Research of the etymology of the word "Lambrusco" demonstrates that this word comes to us from a noble legend of the old Roman Gods. It is said that during an ancient war between Modena and Bologna, Venus, Bacchus and Mars were seated in a local osteria (restaurant), attempting to devise a plan of action. Bacchus then asked the owner of the osteria if he might order some of the local wine. The man asked him if he would prefer it slightly sweet, or fresher and more dry. Bacchus replied that he'd like the more refreshing of the two ("L’am Broesch"), and hence the name "Lambrusco" was born. This Lambrusco Becco Rosso comes from a careful selection of Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro grapes. The color is clear ruby red with a well-defined, brilliant red foam. It shows intense and persistent notes of violets. Dry, well-balanced and characteristic of the varietal, full-bodied, rich in character.

The producer

The ancient grapevine Sorbara is cultivated at the foot of the Apennine mountains of Modena, on the hillsides that were once the lands of Matilde, rich in history and tradition. Three generations of the Fiorini family, dating back to the year 1919, have taken root in this generous and prosperous land, where they have carefully cultivated the art of Lambrusco di Sorbara wine production.

Best with

A very versatile wine, pairs well with cured meats and with the classic food of Emilia, not excluding dishes containing hearty fish such as eel.

How to serve it

Serve at 12-14 degree centigrade (54-57 degrees Fahrenheit) in a transparent crystal, plain and colorless glass.

How to keep

The bottles should be placed horizontally in a fresh place that is not subject to sudden changes in temperature.
