This wine is obtained from the Nebbiolo grape, which is locally known as Chiavennasca and is here made into white wine. Its aroma and dry taste give it a very special finesse, with a very pleasant slightly bitterish aftertaste that is typical of this species of grapevine. Matured in Allier barrels, it acquires its distinctive taste by being laid for a lengthy period of time in fresh, dark cellars.

The producer

Valtellina is a noble wine-making area with ancient traditions. Traditions that are not ignored by the wine-makers at Rainoldi. Considerable experience and a well-developed knowledge of wine-making techniques allow Rainoldi to fully realise the potential of the Valtellinesi grapes and obtain superior wines with delicate and refined characteristics.

This wine is excellent with first courses, white and red meat, and fresh cheese.

How to serve it

The wine should be served at 15 - 16 degrees centigrade in clear, transparent crystal goblets.

How to keep

If it is kept well, this wine has an average conservation period of three to four years. The bottles should be laid horizontally in a cool, dark, humid wine-cellar.
