This great red wine is made only by Sagrantino grapes hand-harvested in the second week of October. It has a deep ruby red colour. Its powerful aroma of wild cherries, blackberries and plums develops notes of graphite, liquorice, juniper berries and aromatic herbs. The tannic weave, the freshness, the alcohol and sugar are well balanced. It is aged in barriques for at least two years and in bottle for more than two years. Contains sulphites. Produced by AZIENDA AGRICOLA ADANTI - Via Belvedere, 2 - Loc. Arquata, 06031, Bevagna, Perugia - Italy.

The producer

Cantine Adanti is one of the historic cellars of the Montefalco area in Umbria. It covers about forty hectares of land, of which thirty are made of vineyards and ten of olive groves, located in the hilly areas of Arquata and Colcimino, famous since ancient times for its high quality of wine and olive oil. The company was founded in the years 60s of the last century, when Domenico Adanti decided to buy the villa Arquata beginning the renovation of the old convent of the Celestine friars, built on the ruins of the Roman period and the late Renaissance one's, and performing at the same time the replanting of old vines and the planting of new ones.

Best with

This wine is a good accompaniment for strong mature cheeses, grilled meats and game meat.

How to serve it

The wine should be served at around 18 degrees centigrade. The best glasses to use are clear, transparent crystal goblets.

How to keep

If kept well, this wine has an average conservation period of more than ten years. The bottles should be laid horizontally in a cool, dark, humid wine-cellar.
