Dedicated to Raniero, count of Gabiano in the XIII century and man of great merit and honor who decided to make glorious the family and the feud he possessed. Made exclusively with Grignolino grapes, a wine with great authority. It has a smooth ruby red colour with typical orange shades. The fragrance is characteristic: intense flower first of all, roses and then spices and black pepper scents. The tasting is dry and balanced, with a persistent aftertaste. Contains sulphites. Produced by MARCHESI CATTANEO ADORNO GIUSTINIANI SRL - Via San Defendente, 2 - 15020, Gabiano (AL) - Italy.

The producer

The Marquises Cattaneo Adorno Giustiniani are engaged in an intense wine production. The estate is located in Gabiano, on an area of 260 hectares, 20 of which destined to vineyards. The wine production favors the low rendering and the wine is bottled only during the best vintage-years in order to assure the higher quality of the wines. The wine ages in the ancient cellars under the Castle. Here, a modern winery combines the traditional wine making knowledge of the family to most sophisticated equipment for the fermentation at controlled temperatures.

Best with

It can be a lovely match with “hors d’oeuvres”, pork meat, salami, white and red meats and “fritto misto alla piemontese”.

How to serve it

To be served at 17-18° C.

How to keep

Store in a cool spot, with fixed-temperature. The bottles should be places horizontally. This is a kind of wine which can continue to evolve and increase its quality with aging.

A red wine from Piedmont, little known and pretty rare. It is pleasing to the nose and moderately structured. I think I’ll buy it again. (Posted on 5/22/2023)
