Only grapes produced in the company's Villa vineyard are used in this red wine. The vineyard is situated in the area of Negar in the heart of Valpolicella. The harvest begins in the second week of September and the grapes are gathered in wooden trays and crushed after 40 days. The grapes are then left to wither until mid-February. Fermentation takes place in steel tubs under a controlled temperature of 25 degrees centigrade for about 21 days. The wine is then matured for four years, half in oak casks and half in "tonneau". After it has been blended, the wine is laid in bottles for three months before being put on the market. It is a strong red colour with a ruby reflection, and a spicy aroma that is reminiscent of jam and has a note of vanilla. It tastes full and warm with a slightly bitterish aftertaste. Contains sulphites. Produced by Soc. Agr. ROBERTO MAZZI E FIGLI - Via Crosetta, 8 - S.Peretto - 37024, Negrar (VR) - Italy.
