Sweet wine obtained from a selection of the best grapes, put out to dry on rack and then pressed at the very begininning of spring. The must matures in barriques for a couple of years. The wine that is then obtained is of a golden color and it lets out a floreal fragrance of apricots, almonds and vanilla. When in the mouth it is full, persistant and of a balanced Contains sulphites. Produced by Azienda Agricola Portinari Umberto e Maria - Via S. Stefano, 2 - 37032, Brognoligo di Monteforte d’Alpone (VR) - Italy.

The producer

The vineyards belonging to the Portinari family in the first decade of the 1900s were cultivated by third parties. Umberto Portinari began cultivating the vines at the beginning of the 80s gradually continuing the vinification process of the grapes produced. The company is divided in two plots of land: Ronchetto and Albare, which give two "Soaves" with very different characteristics. In the vineyard of Albare, Umberto applies the technique of "double maturing" or of the cutting of the shoot, which allows for a better structure to the wine. The cellar and the home are in Brognoligo, in the outskirts of Monteforte d'Alpone and completely surrounded by the viny hills.

Best with

Great meditation wine. It goes well with dry sweets, mature cheese and cheese with herbs.

How to serve it

It is advisable to open the bottles some time beforehand. It should be served at a temperature of 16-18° C. The perfect glass is a transparant, smooth crystal glass.

How to keep

If conserved properly, this wine can last more than 10 years. The bottles should be layed horizontally in a cool, dry and humid cellar.
