The magnificent exposure and the rocky grounds, together with the dry and breezy climate, allow to obtain an elegant and full Brunello suitable for long aging periods. The favourable natural factors are enhanced by the selection of the grapes which guarantee a high level of quality even in less favourable years, the selection during harvest and the careful vinification in controlled temperature. Only a part of the production, that is left to age for four years in oak barrels are destined to become Brunello docg whereas the other part becomes Montalcino doc, after a year or so of aging. Even the thinning in the bottles is carefully controlled after a few months.
