This wine is made from 40 years old vineyards. Barbera grapes are handy picked and fermentation takes place at controlled temperature. Refinement is in small oak barrels (225 Liters of capacity), the famous "barriques", in such a way to soften hints of hardness, due to the natural wine sourness, and enriching it with noble wooden tannins. The result is a smooth, well-bodied, dry-flavoured wine, with a wide bouquet and a deep ruby-red color.

The producer

Armando and Aurelio Montobbio are the owners; they are twins, both oenologists, in a way to tie the most rationalized techniques with the ancient wine-making traditions. Montobbio's family is linked from different generations to the good quality wine world, and on their ancestors way, Armando and Aurelio keep on searching to increase more and more the absolute quality.

Best with

Perfect with structured dishes as boiled meat, roast-beefs, braised-beefs, venison and seasoned cheese.

How to serve it

We suggest to open the bottle at least 30 minute before drinking, pouring the wine in a decanter. It has to be served in crystal, uncolored and threadless glass, at a temperature of 18-20°C.

How to keep

The bottles should be laid horizontally in a cool, dark, humid wine-cellar.
