This wine is the valued result of the careful and exclusive selection of Dolvetto variety grapes, which are grown in the "Bricco Bastia" vineyard, owned by the company. After brief maceration in contact with the grapeskins the Dolcetto d'Alba Bricco Bastia is left in steel containers until it is bottled about 8 months later. It has a ruby red colour, with a tendency towards purple at the top of the glass. The bouquet is fruity and winey with a taste that is dry, pleasantly bitter and full bodied. Contains sulphites. Produced by Azienda Agricola Conterno Fantino - Via Ginestra, 1 - 12065, Monforte d'Alba - Italy.
The producer
The company was formed in 1982 out of a partnership between Claudio and Diego Conterno and Guido Fantio. This partnership brought together new ideas about land management skills and winery techniques. Claudio and Diego concerned themselves with the vines while Guido took responsibility for the winery. In 1994 the company took up residence in Bricco di Bastia in Monforte d'Alba in a panoramic position which looks out on the wide arc of the Piedmontese Alps. Since the formation of the company special attention has been paid to the quality of the wine produced, and, as a result of the skill, diligence and dedication of its owners, the company is now one of the leading wine producers in Piedmont.
