The region of Colli Euganei is composed of a series of hills of volcanic origin located within the "Parco Regionale dei Colli Euganei", in the province of Padua, an area of enormous natural value. Pre-Roman civilizations practiced vine cultivation. From the XIX and XX century, the local winemakers decided to enhance the autochthonous varieties and, at the same time, they decided to cultivate those international varieties that here express themselves at their best: Sauvignon, Pinot Blanc, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Ca' Lustra Zanovello is a family-run winery of the Colli Euganei, based in Faedo di Cinto Euganeo, on the slopes of Monte Venda, in the "Parco Regionale dei Colli Euganei", in the province of Padua, in Veneto. Founded in 1977 by Franco Zanovello, today the winery is led by his sons Marco and Linda.
Ca' Lustra Zanovello covers 42 hectares of land, 25 of which are dedicated to the cultivation of vines. The winery has lands in Cinto Euganeo, in addition to those in the estates of Belvedere, Sottovenda, Campagnola, Peraréto, Monte Cinto, Monte Brecale, Valnogaredo, Cengolina and in Arquà Petrarca, with the prestigious "cru" of "Sassonero" and "Girapoggio". These are micro-areas with different soil characteristics. This differentiation allows the winery to place the vines in areas where they meet the best conditions for their cultivation.
Garganega, Pinot Bianco, Sauvignon, Serprina, Manzoni Bianco, Tai Bianco and Moscato are the most cultivated white grape varieties. Merlot and Cabernet are the most cultivated black grape varieties. Ca' Lustra wines are BIO wines. The winery wants authentic wines, whose production process is sustainable, respectful of the environment and of the extraordinary geological, faunal and botanical biodiversity of the "Parco Regionale dei Colli Euganei".
Colli Euganei Cabernet D.O.C. Ca' Lustra is made from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, with a small percentage of Carménère grapes, cultivated in the vineyard called "Girapoggio", on the steep slopes of Arquà Petrarca, in an area well exposed and with calcareous-volcanic soils. This wine is aged for 2 years in barrels of 500 liters and then in oak barrels, before being bottled and put on the market.

Colli Euganei Cabernet D.O.C. Girapoggio Ca' Lustra 2016 has an intense ruby red color, with violet reflections. The bouquet is broad, characterized by predominantly herbaceous and spicy notes on a light fruity background, and hints of tobacco and leather, the result of the long maturation in wooden barrels. Solid in body, strong in structure, with its 14.5% vol., it is soft and round on the palate, caressing, with mineral notes that refer to the richness of the soil of the Colli Euganei. To drink not before 4-5 years.
